Terms of Service

1.Parties and scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of Heatrail, operated by Heatrail OÜ (registry code 16731349, Estonia), by the business that registers a partner account ("you"). By registering an account you conclude both these Terms and the Heatrail Data Processing Agreement; no separate paperwork is signed. Both documents are versioned, and your acceptance of a specific version is recorded together with the content hash of the text you accepted.

2.The service

Heatrail provides a privacy-preserving fraud-signal layer for e-commerce stores. Heatrail only informs: it never blocks, delays or cancels a purchase, it makes no automated decision about your customers, and an outage on Heatrail's side never takes your store down (fail-open by design). Risk scores are advisory; every decision about an order remains yours.

3.Access

A partner account is opened after review of the registered business (registry code, domain, ownership). Access to the plugin, the SDK and API credentials requires both an active subscription and an approved shop. Approval is at Heatrail's discretion and may be withheld or withdrawn.

4.Pricing

One cent (EUR 0.01) per billable order, whatever your volume. There are no tiers, no minimum and no cap.

Your first 100 billable orders are free. When your subscription starts, Heatrail credits EUR 1.00 to your account once; Stripe uses that credit against your first invoices, so nothing is charged until 100 billable orders have been checked. The allowance is granted once for the lifetime of your account, not once per month.

Prices are in EUR and exclude VAT where applicable.

5.Billing period and invoicing

The billing period is the calendar month (UTC). A billable order is the first check for a distinct order in a period; repeated checks of the same order are not billed again.

Stripe issues an invoice for the period's usage at the end of each period. In addition, whenever the usage accrued in the current period reaches EUR 100, that usage is invoiced immediately and the remainder settles with the monthly invoice. The threshold changes when you are invoiced, never how much. Your card is charged through Stripe when an invoice is issued. Card data is held only by Stripe, never by Heatrail.

6.Your obligations

You keep your API credentials confidential and rotate them through the portal if they are exposed. You send only the signal fields the integration defines: e-mail addresses and phone numbers are hashed in your own systems before transmission, and raw contact details must never be sent to Heatrail. You label orders truthfully; fraud and chargeback labels feed a shared signal and must reflect real, evidenced outcomes.

7.Cancellation

You may cancel any time from the Stripe Billing Portal. Access continues until the end of the paid period; you are billed only for usage up to that point. No minimum term, no cancellation fee. Heatrail may terminate an account for a breach of these terms or of the Data Processing Agreement.

8.Liability and governing law

The service is advisory and is provided without a warranty that it identifies any particular fraudulent order. Heatrail is not liable for commercial decisions you take on the basis of a score. Estonian law applies. Nothing here limits either party's liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

9.Changes to these terms

Heatrail may publish a new version of these terms. A new version does not bind you until you accept it: you are asked to review and accept it in the portal before continuing to use the service, and each accepted version is recorded separately with its date and content hash.
